Any flies in Tokyo?

It’s been about 3 years that I’m living in Tokyo and I still haven’t seen a single fly!

I know this may sound a little bit crazy, but I just wonder why.

Flies are everywhere, even in clean sites they always exist with the only purpose to annoy humans.
Tokyo is a really clean city but that doesn’t mean that dirty zones do not exist. I found places with trash on the street and many other organic dirty things but mysteriously, no flies around…

What about you? Is there some Tokyoite that could confirm me the same?

It is because of polution. I was very shock when I started living in Madrid because here we dont have flies either.

    Really? No flies at Madrid?
It should be the pollution. One more reasonable excuse to move to the country side.

I do certainly see flies here in Kansai every once in a while, but not many. I also noticed, when I used to live in Tokyo 8 years ago, that there were no flies around.

You are going to see dozens of other types of insects crawling their way into your room here in Japan if you live near a park, forest or dump (these are not exclusive choices lol).
